Carriage Deal Brings Fight Sports Channel to Spain

LONDON: CSI Sports and fiber-optic-network supplier ONO have inked a multiyear carriage deal in Spain for the 24/7 HD channel Fight Sports.

Through the partnership, the network will premiere on ONO with live events such as the Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Marcos Maidana rematch and heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko’s defense against Kubrat Pulev. Other programming will include exclusive live airings of the HBO World Championship Boxing Series, World Championship Kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts and various martial arts tournaments from around the globe.

“We are proud to announce the launch of Fight Sports on ONO and look forward to providing passionate fans across Spain with the biggest and best fights supported by exclusive original programing 24/7, all in one destination,” said Craig Miele, the co-CEO of CSI Sports.

In an official statement from ONO, the company said: “There is increasing interest in watching fight-related sports in Spain and we are delighted to add Fight Sports to give our customers an even wider variety of sports viewing. With exclusive rights to HBO Championship Boxing and major upcoming events like the Klitschko and Mayweather World Championship fights, Fight Sports is the leader in this genre and we are pleased to be the first operator in Spain to carry the network.”
