RTVE’s Administrative Council Approves New Management Structure at TVE

MADRID: RTVE’s administrative council has approved a new management structure at Televisión Española (TVE), which includes a merged area dubbed Contenidos y Antena, led by Francisco Díaz Ujados, while Ignacio Gómez-Acebo will become the director of strategic planning for programming and production at TVE.

Also, Jaime Garrido will assume leadership over broadcasting images and Yolanda García Cuevas will lead the sports division.

Díaz Ujados is an audiovisual vet with extensive experience and knowledge in the areas of business management, content creation and management of teams in the national television field.

Meanwhile, Gómez-Acebo is a television producer who has spent practically his entire career in RTVE, where he began in 1981. He has participated in the production of nine Olympics (summer and winter), as well as European and worldwide championships for soccer, basketball, handball and swimming, among others.

Garrido has a degree in information sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid along with a special license from the Instituto de Radiotelevisión. His professional career has been with Televisión Española, which he joined in 1984.

Sports director García Cuevas began her professional career with TVE in 1995 as a production assistant for various programs. From January 2009 to 2010, she was executive producer of Eurovision and international affairs in RTVE’s sports division. From that date to the present, she has served as deputy director of rights acquisitions and Eurovision in the area of sports.

Finally, Jesús Álvarez is also part of the restructuring, combining his work as a sports presenter on TD-2 with the role of coordinator of sporting events, a responsibility covering the oversight of major athletic events at the national and international level, including matches in the Spanish selection, the Champions League or the Olympics.
