MAINZ: Zulu, which is the first joint movie project from ZDF Enterprises and Studio Hamburg Enterprises, is launching in cinemas throughout Germany today.

The German premiere for the film was held on May 5. It is now rolling out in theaters across the country. Zulu, which is directed by Jérôme Salle, is based on a novel of the same name by the French author Caryl Férey. It was filmed on location in South Africa and stars Orlando Bloom (Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings) and Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland, Ghost Dog).

The German pubcaster ZDF is set to air the movie in prime time.

Alexander Coridass, the president and CEO at ZDF Enterprises, said: "We are delighted to be involved in this fantastic project, both as purchaser and distributor of the rights in the German-speaking region. Within our group of companies, we are able to successfully acquire and market TV rights and, whenever an appropriate opportunity presents itself, DVD, theatrical and VOD rights. We are looking forward to further exciting cinema projects with Studio Hamburg Enterprises."
