LOS ANGELES: HBO Nordic has scored the exclusive rights for a first run of all new Showtime original series in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland, thanks to a deal with CBS Studios International.

This includes Penny Dreadful, Ray Donovan and The Affair. The first of the new series to premiere on HBO Nordic is Penny Dreadful. The first two episodes launch today and coming episodes will be available Mondays with local subtitles, within 24 hours after the U.S. broadcast.

HBO Nordic also acquired the rights to air a large number of Showtime library titles, among them Dexter, Californication and Nurse Jackie.

“With this partnership with CBS Studios International, HBO Nordic has a unique offering of new and library series from the four major premium U.S. pay-TV operators and surely confirms that it is 'The Home of Series,'” said Hervé Payan, CEO at HBO Nordic.
