LONDON: People Just Do Nothing is the first U.K.-originated comedy series to play out in full on the BBC iPlayer ahead of its linear broadcast.

The show initially debuted as a pilot on BBC iPlayer. It will premiere in full on the service today, ahead of its broadcast on BBC Three in September. People Just Do Nothing is a mockumentary series about a pirate radio station and its crew. It marks the first comedy to have originated on BBC iPlayer that has subsequently been commissioned as a series on a BBC channel. The show was created by Roughcut Television.

Ash Atalla, executive producer for Roughcut Television, said: “A brand-new series launched in a brand-new way. People Just Do Nothing is the first U.K.-made comedy series to play out in full on BBC iPlayer ahead of its transmission on BBC Three. The premiere will allow people to binge watch what is one of my favorite ever shows.”
