LONDON: ITV has purchased the Danish TV production outfit United, which is behind a number of factual and entertainment series.

United was founded in 2012 by Louise Ellerbæk and Mads Lund. Ellerbæk's credits include serving as executive producer on a host of shows for TV2 and SBS/Kanal 4. Lund is a former editor at TV2 Denmark, and as an executive producer has worked on more than 100 TV shows, including projects for TV2, DR, Viasat/TV3, SBS/Kanal 4 and 5. The company has a slate of factual, entertainment and reality shows in the Danish market, and is increasing its emphasis on international formats.

Paul Buccieri, the managing director of ITV Studios International and president and CEO of ITV Studios US Group, said: “The acquisition of United further strengthens our production capabilities in the Nordics.

“The company has a great track record in the region, with two exceptional and experienced leaders at the helm. I am delighted to welcome them to the ITV group and look forward to helping them realise their ambitions both in the Nordics and internationally.”

Lund and Ellerbæk commented: “ITV has a fantastic history in entertainment and formatted factual. We are looking forward to collaborating on formats and programs with our sister ITV companies in the Nordic region.”
