LONDON: ITV has ordered a new tactical quiz show, The 21st Question, from Chocolate Media, which is part of NBCUniversal International Television Production.

The 21st Question features exactly 21 questions. One player faces ten challenges through a series of "winner stays on" rounds. These test both strategy and wits. Only one player will successfully fend off all the competition; whoever is left standing faces a chance to win, so long as the can answer the 21st question.

A 10×1-hour show was commissioned for daytime on ITV.

David Mortimer, the senior VP of factual and entertainment at NBCUniversal International Television Production, said: “The 21st Question is a brilliantly simple but hugely addictive quiz show and I’m excited to be bringing it to ITV. I joined NBCUniversal International Television Production because of the opportunity it gives me to put substantial development effort behind big and bold ideas—this early commission is an indication that we really mean business.”

Presenter Gethin Jones said: “I'm delighted to be part of this exciting new show for ITV. The game plays out in so many different ways and is sure to keep everyone guessing until I ask The 21st Question."
