Belgian Comedy That Awkward Moment Heads to New Markets

LONDON: The comedy series That Awkward Moment, which originated in Belgium, has been licensed to WDR in Germany and SBS6 in the Netherlands, along with ITV Studios optioning the format rights for an Australian adaptation.

The 8×30-minute series is represented by CAN’T STOP Media. Following its success on 2BE in Belgium, a second season has been commissioned.

“The concept and humour of the show is simple and universal, everyone can relate to it,” said Andreas Boenisch, partner at CAN’T STOP media. “We are delighted to have this great looking series in our lineup and first deals with Germany, Australia and the Netherlands prove that the show has the quality to air either as finished episodes or as a localized format in the largest territories.”
