Video Interview: DRG’s Jeremy Fox

NEW YORK: In this video interview, Jeremy Fox, the founder and CEO of DRG, speaks with TV Europe about the advantages of the MTG Studios acquisition, while emphasizing that the company is still a "small distributor looking after independent producers."

DRG was built on three pillars: factual, fiction and formats, according to Fox. Some of the most successful programs for the company this year have included the return of Catch Phrase to ITV and Top Boy to Channel 4. DRG is also finding success with Scandinavian formats such as NRK's Never Ever Do This At Home, which has been produced in seven territories to date, and Slow TV, which is being remade by LMNO Productions in the U.S.

Earlier this year, MTG Studios purchased a majority stake in DRG, a move that has resulted in a major boost in funding and a bigger pool of partners to dip into. This also added around 38 formats to the DRG catalogue from Strix, another MTG company, as well as the recently acquired factual entertainment format Love Nest from Nice Entertainment Group, which was also acquired by MTG in September.
