LONDON: Channel 5 is making Demand 5 available via Xbox One, as is Channel 4 with its 4oD service.

Demand 5 is a free catch-up service that features programs from Channel 5, 5USA and 5*. 4oD gives users the ability to catch up on their favorite Channel 4 programs from the last 30 days and also enjoy shows from the C4 archive.

Both Demand 5 and 4oD are now available on the Xbox One console, which is Microsoft's new all-in-one gaming and entertainment system.

James Tatam, the digital media director for Channel 5, said: “We are delighted that Demand 5 will be among the first entertainment services to launch on Xbox One, bringing Channel 5 shows to a new generation of devices, enabling viewers to watch their favorites whenever they want.”

Laurence Dawkin-Jones, the director of commercial and business development at Channel 4, said: “Channel 4 always strives to be at the forefront of new consumer technology developments, and our team have worked really hard to ensure that 4oD will be available on Microsoft’s eagerly awaited new Xbox One console as soon as it hits the shelves.

“This new release extends our continuing partnership with Xbox—as 4oD is already available on the Xbox 360 platform—and builds upon our strategy to broaden the reach of Channel 4 content and to make it available where our viewers want to watch it.”
