STOCKHOLM: Modern Times Group is launching its third free-TV channel in Norway: TV6.

TV6 joins the free-to-air TV3 and Viasat4 in the group's existing Norwegian portfolio. TV6 will be a general entertainment and lifestyle channel. It will broadcast a combination of talk shows, dramas, crime series and movies. Titles such as The Great British Bake-off, The Jonathan Ross Show, Location, Location, Location and MasterChef UK are among the series to air on the channel. Starting in 2013, TV6 will also air locally produced programming. The channel has a female skew and targets those 35 to 49. Household penetration is expected to be around 65 percent at launch.

Jørgen Madsen Lindemann, the president and CEO of MTG, commented: “TV6 will be a great addition to our entertainment offering for Norwegian viewers. It will be widely available on multiple platforms and devices and provide a range of exciting and engaging programming content. This is the latest important step in the on-going implementation of our multi-channel media house strategy, and will further enhance our competitive position in Norway.”
