RTL’s Schäferkordt Tapped for International Emmy Directorate Award

NEW YORK: RTL Group’s co-CEO, Anke Schäferkordt, has been named the recipient of the 2013 International Emmy Directorate Award, which will be presented at the 41st International Emmy Awards Gala on November 25.

“Anke Schäferkordt has been a driving force behind RTL’s growth—both in Germany, Europe’s largest and most competitive television market, and since 2012 across the group’s worldwide operations," said Bruce L. Paisner, the president and CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. "Her passion for programming, combined with a long-view strategic approach, make her an outstanding leader in the international TV industry. We look forward to adding her name to the very distinguished roster of recipients of the Academy’s Directorate Award."

Schäferkordt, who is also CEO of Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland, commented, “I am deeply honored to receive this prestigious award. The International Emmy Awards Gala will honor content produced outside of the U.S. in a range of categories. In addition, J.J. Abrams will receive the International Emmy Founders Award.
