France Gets New Channel Dedicated to Asian Pop Culture

LONDON: Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) France has unveiled J-ONE, a brand-new channel dedicated exclusively to Asian pop culture.

J-ONE, launching October 4, will air the best in Japanese animated programming across France, which is one of the largest consumer territories for manga animation, second only to Japan. The channel will also feature programs looking at Japanese culture and trends, game shows, news, reality series and the best in J-Pop and K-Pop music videos. Japanese MTV Unplugged concerts will be featured alongside award ceremonies such as the VMAJs, in partnership with MTV Asia.

The new service will be available exclusively on satellite TV via CanalSat and on cable via Numericable.
