MTV3 Scores New U.S. Fare

LOS ANGELES: CBS Studios International unveiled a new multi-year volume deal with MTV3’s bouquet of channels in Finland that includes the new series Reign and Reckless as the L.A. Screenings wound down Thursday.

MTV3 will broadcast recently announced series pick-ups, including the drama Reckless, the sitcom The Millers and the period piece for The CW called Reign, as well as premium content from Showtime. No financial details were made available.

The new volume deal expands on the existing relationship between CBS Studios International and MTV3, which includes the CSI franchise.

Armando Nuñez, the president and CEO of CBS Global Distribution, said in a statement: “We are delighted to partner with Finland’s biggest commercial television station to showcase our world-class content and help further position ourselves as the leading provider of U.S. content in the European region.”

Jani Hartikainen, the VP of acquisitions and production for MTV3, added: “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to broadcast high-quality programming from one of the leading content providers in the world.”

The MTV Media Group is owned by the 200 year-old Swedish corporation Bonnier, which operates 175 companies in 16 countries.
