Global Screen Reports MIPTV Deals

CANNES: Global Screen inked a number of deals at MIPTV this week, including preselling the disaster movie Heroes into Japan and scoring an Italian slot for the series Homicide Unit Istanbul.

In the Czech Republic, a free-TV deal was closed for more than 50 titles from the Scene of the Crime feature franchise. Packages of TV movies also went to Italy, French-speaking Belgium and Eastern Europe (HRT Croatia, Slovak TV, TV Markiza, Viasat). Plus, a series package that includes MEK 8 and Double Trouble was sold to China. Also in Asia, Taiwan picked up The Hunt for the Amber Room. Rounding out the fiction deals, Alarm for Cobra 11 sold to Afghanistan (all seasons) and Latin America (three seasons), and Storm of Love was licensed to Hungary’s TV 4.

On the factual side, Charlemagne went to Viasat for Eastern Europe, while The Big Five of South America is headed to Pan Universe International in China.
