Power Spreads Holiday Cheer in Cannes

LONDON: Power is in Cannes showcasing several Christmas-themed TV movies and mini-series that have already been picked up by broadcasters around the globe.

Among the titles on offer are Christmas Pageant, featuring Melissa Gilbert of Little House on the Prairie; Old Fashioned Christmas, starring Nip/Tuck’s Jacqueline Bisset; and Meet the Santas, with Steve Guttenberg from Three Men and a Baby. The company is also presenting an adaptation of A Christmas Carol, the cast of which is led by Jennifer Love Hewitt (The Ghost Whisperer) and Kelsey Grammer (Frasier).

In Lithuania, LRT took Annie Claus is Coming to Town, Christmas Pageant, Santa Incident and Love’s Christmas Journey for free television, while Viasat licensed All I Want for Christmas, Boyfriend for Christmas and Farewell Mr Kringle for channel TV8.

POP TV in Slovenia acquired a number of titles for free TV, basic cable and satellite, including The Christmas Card, Santa Incident, Single Santa Seeks Mrs Clause, Old Fashioned Christmas, Boyfriend for Christmas, Love’s Christmas Journey, Christmas Pageant, Christmas in Canaan, Grandpa for Christmas, Farewell Mr Kringle, Annie Kringle, Christmas Visitor and Santa Junior.

Croatia’s HRT purchased Christmas Box, The Christmas Card, Christmas Carol The Musical, Christmas in Canaan and Grandpa for Christmas for free television. In addition, Kanal 2 in Estonia snapped up Farewell Mr Kringle, Annie Claus is Coming to Town and Old Fashioned Christmas for Kanal 11 and Kanal 12.
