LONDON: Content Television has entered into an agreement with Artists Studio, giving it an exclusive first look on acquiring the international rights for all productions developed by the U.K. outfit independently of third-party commissions.

Artists Studio works with scriptwriters and authors through partnerships to empower creators by giving them more control of their work. The pact between Content and Artists Studio follows on the success of the global launch of such productions as The Fall, starring Gillian Anderson, and the crime thriller franchise Thorne.

Gub Neal, founder at Artists Studio, said, "It’s a positive and exciting move for us to be formalizing our relationship with Content in this way. After the hugely productive experience of working with the Content Television team on The Fall for the BBC, and also the Thorne films for Sky it will be immensely rewarding to cement our partnership further on a slew of new titles. Working hand in glove with a dedicated and bespoke distributor like Content perfectly matches Artists Studio’s mantra of putting the key creatives at the heart of the process, and dealing with the challenges of successful commercial exploitation in a highly personal and talent friendly way."

Greg Phillips, the president of Content Television, said, “We have always admired Artists Studio’s approach to content development, which keeps the creators and their original vision at the heart of the production process. It is a highly effective model which has seen a wealth of strong drama produced in recent years and we’re looking forward to working with Gub and his colleagues and all the talent they assemble as we introduce more of their titles to our international clients.”
