MECHELEN: Duco Sickinghe has decided to resign as CEO and managing director of Telenet.

Sickinghe will be replaced by John Porter, who was the chief executive of Austar Communications until May 2012. Of his resignation, Sickinghe said: "I love my job and enjoy working at Telenet. I am extremely proud of what we have been able to achieve over the years for our customers, building on the fantastic cable network in Flanders and part of Brussels. Telenet has become a superb organization with intensely motivated, talented and ambitious colleagues.

As a result of our countless collective efforts, our work has been recognized by our customers, the financial markets and the cable industry. In light of recent events, time has come for me to move on. I believe this to be in the best interest of Telenet and its future. This decision comes at the moment when Telenet is well prepared for further solid growth in the coming years. I would like to extend my enormous gratitude to all colleagues at Telenet, in particular the executive team, the public authorities, our partners, our directors and our shareholders and to all those with whom I have been able to grow great professional relationships and fulfilling friendships.

It has been a real privilege to contribute to the growth of this company and this region.

Last but not least, I want to thank our customers for their trust and loyalty."
