DUBLIN: Jeff Ford, formerly the director of programming at Channel 5, has joined TV3 as the station’s new director of content.

In addition to his time at Channel 5, Ford has previously held roles as the director of acquisitions at Channel 4 and controller of acquisitions at ITV. At TV3 he is filling the role of Ben Frow, who has left the company.

David McRedmond, the CEO of TV3, said: “Attracting Jeff to TV3 is a major coup for the network. Jeff is recognized as one of the most experienced, capable and thoughtful TV executives in the U.K.

“Unusually he has worked across all the major U.K. networks in a variety of roles. Jeff will provide the TV3 management team with an unrivalled depth and breadth of industry experience to build on the brilliant, creative work of Ben Frow.”

Ford added:TV3 has built a reputation as an innovative, energetic and independent broadcaster. Its recent foray into production and the imminent opening of one of the best new studios in Europe makes it an attractive company to join.

“I can’t wait to meet the talented team there and start working alongside them to bring viewers even more great programming, which will take TV3 to the next stage in its development."
