Sky Vision Staffs Up Sales Team as Deals Roll In

LONDON: Sky Vision has landed a raft of deals for programs from a variety of U.K. producers and has added to its sales team to support these efforts.

Karen Wise, the former head of sales at Target Entertainment, has joined Sky Vision as the senior sales manager, handling the U.S., Benelux, Ireland and Israel. She will also oversee sales in Asia. Wise reports to Leona Connell, the head of global sales.

Atlantic Productions’ Kingdom of Plants was sold to France 5, Red Bull Media’s Servus TV for German-speaking Europe, RTL Germany, VRT in Belgium, Viasat in Eastern Europe and Scandinavia, TV2 in Norway and a variety of airlines, including British Airways.

Deserts & Life, from the Welsh company Green Bay Media, was picked up by UKTV, Servus TV and France 5. Also from Green Bay Media, Islands & Life went to Servus TV, France 5 and NGCI.

Britain & Ireland from the Sky, from Bigger Pictures, went to Brazil’s Globosat. The Toilet: An Unspoken History, from Cwmni Da, was picked up by AETN Asia, Foxtel, Public LTD, Latvian TV, Origo Media in Hungary, Thai Public Broadcasting the Finland’s YLE. Drain the Great Lakes, produced by Mallinson Sadler Productions, went to Red Bull Media, Canal D in Canada and Japan’s NHK.
