LONDON: Chellomedia has appointed Simon Freer as chief commercial officer, Ron Huisman as chief financial officer and Mike Moriarty as managing director for Chello Benelux and Chellomedia Investments.

Freer previously served as the global head of TMT at 3i Group. In his new role he will supervise the revenue growth of 66 channels, manage the company’s corporate development team and establish business partnerships.

Huisman will officially become the new CFO early next year. Right now he is working as the VP of mergers and acquisitions for Liberty Global, Chellomedia’s parent company. Upon Huisman’s appointment, Angela McMullen, the interim CFO, will become the managing director of special projects.

Moriarty is currently the managing director of Chellomedia for Central Europe, a title he took on in 2006. Over the past two decades he has held a number of positions, including CEO of UPC Hungary and managing director of Liberty Global Ventures.

Niall Curran, the president of Chellomedia, commented: "I am delighted that Simon Freer and Ron Huisman are joining Chellomedia’s team. Their extensive experience in developing businesses is a perfect complement to our strong TV operations expertise, and positions us well to pursue the many opportunities that we see in our markets. I also look forward to continue working with Mike as he expands his focus to another of our core markets, the Benelux."

Curran added: "The combination of experience and new talent in the Chellomedia team will help us deliver on the many exciting routes to grow our content businesses and for which we continue to enjoy the support of Liberty Global, one of the world’s great cable companies."
