Winners Named for French Export Awards

PARIS: This year’s Export Awards, which took place yesterday in Paris during the French Television Producer Awards gala ceremony, sent three best-sellers home with awards.

Minuscule, distributed by Futurikon, won in the animation category, which also included Mediatoon Distribution’s The Adventures of Tintin and Millimages’ MoukAs far as documentaries go, ARTE France’s Waste: The Nuclear Nightmare beat out The Way Steve Jobs Has Changed the World and Wildwives of Savannah Lane, distributed by Upside Télévision and ZED, respectively. For fiction, the third season of NeweN Distribution’s Spiral swept the category, defeating The Box Distribution’s Hard and AB International Distribution’s Mafiosi.

Organized by TV France International, the Export Awards acknowledge French programs that sold the most internationally in the categories of animation, documentary and fiction. The winners are selected by a group of professionals from around the world who work in television.
