BBC Entertainment Grows Footprint in Nordic Market

LONDON: BBC Worldwide Channels has signed a carriage deal with the Norwegian DTT provider RiksTV, which will add BBC Entertainment to its lineup as of November 1.

BBC Entertainment debuted in the Nordic market in 2008. The channel features hit shows such as Dragons’ Den, Alan Carr: Chatty Man and The Graham Norton Show. With the November launch on RiksTV, the channel will feature the global premiere of Richard Hammond’s Crash Course.

Ian McDonough, the senior VP and general manager for EMEA at BBC Worldwide Channels, commented: “We are delighted to expand upon our existing portfolio and relationship with RiksTV and introduce BBC Entertainment this November to 290,000 new subscribers. As the home of British Comedy, BBC Entertainment is already proving to be a popular channel with Norwegian audiences who appreciate our unique mix of classic and cult comedy, along with our award-winning factual entertainment and crime drama featuring the best of British talent.”
