LONDON: Power has been tapped to represent the rights for the Bankside Films catalogue of 21 movies on an exclusive basis worldwide.

Power also gets a first-look option on all other titles as they become part of the library, with the potential to add five to eight additional titles a year. The library features the Gulf War drama The Situation; Lou, starring John Hurt; the comedy Bran Nue Dae, led by Geoffrey Rush; The Baker, about a hitman hiding from his past; and How About You, starring Vanessa Redgrave.

Steve Turney, Power’s VP of sales and acquisitions, said: "Power continues to bolster its portfolio, not only boosting our traditional fare of premium series, mini-series and TV movies but supplementing it with the addition of feature films. The Bankside Films library has been on our radar for some time and we’re delighted to have this opportunity to work with Bankside and represent their excellent product."

Stephen Kelliher, Bankside Films’ head of sales and marketing, added: “We are delighted to be in business with Power and their excellent sales team who we firmly believe will maximize the value of Bankside’s library in television, new media and ancillary markets.”
