MUNICH: Tele München Group (TMG) has picked up a package of rights for Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3, which is scheduled for release on May 3, 2013 in North America.

TMG acquired theatrical distribution rights in Germany and Austria, as well as German-language home-video, TV and new-media rights in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Alto Adige. In Germany, the film will be released by TMG’s subsidiaries Concorde Filmverleih (theatrical) and Concorde Home Entertainment (DVD/video). The VOD, NVOD and TV rights are distributed by TMG. The company already distributes the prequels Iron Man and Iron Man 2.

Herbert Kloiber, the owner and CEO of TMG, commented: “We are looking forward to the third installment of this successful franchise, which will not only add value to the lineup of our subsidiaries, it is also another highlight in our program catalogue that we can offer German TV broadcasters on all levels of exploitation.”

“TMG has been an exceptional and trusted partner of Marvel since the launch of the first
Iron Man in 2008, and we are pleased they opted to handle the German-language distribution for Iron Man 3 as well,” said Rob Steffens, the general manager of operations and finance for Marvel Studios.
