LONDON: The U.S. reality show Fear Factor, produced by Endemol USA, has been picked up by Channel 5 in the U.K. to air on its digital service 5*.

The show first aired in the U.S. in May 2001 and was brought back after a five-year absence on NBC in December 2011. Fear Factor has sold into more than 175 countries, with local versions produced in more than 30.

Paul Fagan, Channel 5’s head of acquisitions, said, “With its high-speed thrills, shocking stunts and sheer scariness, Fear Factor is bigger and better than ever before. We’re delighted to have secured the series for our summer 2012 schedule on 5*.”
