LONDON: Shed Media Group has acquired a majority stake in Renegade Pictures, which now joins brands such as Shed Productions, Wall to Wall, Twenty Twenty and Ricochet.

The Renegade Pictures team, including new editorial director and former BBC commissioner Harry Lansdown, will continue to operate from its current London base in an independent manner. The company’s intellectual property will now be distributed by Warner Bros.

Alan Hayling, the editorial director at Renegade Pictures, said, “What attracted us to Shed Media is its integrity—the sense that the quality of the programs they make really matters. That’s vital to us at Renegade and it’s why there’s a natural synergy between Shed and Renegade. And with the strength of Warner Bros. behind the group, joining Shed is a great basis for a new phase of expansion for Renegade.”

Nick Southgate, the CEO of Shed Media Group, added, “I’m delighted that Renegade will be joining our group—I’ve long been an admirer of their output. Alex, Alan, Jon and the team have the wonderful ability of mixing high quality television with commercial success and I think they will fit in brilliantly at Shed.”
