Panini Group Targets TV Distribution

MODENA: The Panini Group, which celebrated its 50th birthday last year, has launched the new Panini Media unit, which operates as part of The Licensing Machine (TLM) and is focused on the TV distribution arena.

Panini Media has a catalogue that spans sci-fi, crime, fantasy and drama, as well as animated series, history formats and documentaries. Lead titles, to be presented at MIPTV include Metal Hurlant Chronicles, a fantasy series that has already been sold in more than 50 countries. The show is an adaptation of the iconic ’80s comics collection. It stars Scott Adkins, Rutger Hauer, Michael Jai White, James Marsters, Michelle Ryan and Kelly Brooke.

Signs is a drama written by Ysé Brisson. Julien Mutter, Randy Bradshaw, Patricia Harris Seely. Jordskott is a mystery crime series set in present time, though its starting point is the stories and characters from Scandinavian legends.

From producer DOC Story comes In Loving Memory: NYC Firefighters 10 Years After. For the first time, a production team has been authorized to go inside the Training Center of the FDNY at Randall’s Island. Also based in the factual arena, Secrets of History spotlights such famous figures as Marie Antoinette, Queen Victoria and Claude Money. Format rights are also available.
