TORONTO/LONDON: Charlotte van Weede has been appointed to the newly created role of head of sales for Entertainment One’s (eOne) international film division, based in the company’s London office.

Van Weede will report to Sally Caplan, the managing director, and they will work closely with Charlotte Mickie and her Canadian-based team, which will continue to handle product from Canadian film makers, as well as discovering new talent and focusing on specialist films outside of Canada. Most recently, van Weede served as head of sales at Protagonist Pictures, where she worked since 2008. She was responsible for international rights for feature films such as In the Loop, Streetdance 3D, Submarine and How I Live Now. Prior to that role, she served as the director of international films for Hanway Films.

“Charlotte van Weede’s experience in sales and vast knowledge of the global film market make her an invaluable asset to the team as we continue to develop our business,” said Caplan. “Charlotte is much liked and well-suited to position and offer eOne’s content internationally. She has built strong relationships with producers and distributors in the U.K., Europe and all over the world.”
