LONDON: The BBC has appointed Anna Mallett to the role of CEO of BBC Studios and Post Production.

As of September, Mallett will report to John Tate, the chairman of BBC Studios and Post Production and the BBC’s group director of policy and strategy. Mallett has served on the senior leadership team at the BBC since 2006. Since September 2008 she has been the controller of business strategy, responsible for the BBC’s overall commercial strategy, in addition to developing the BBC’s distribution strategy. Mallett previously worked at The Boston Consulting Group. She is a member of the BBC’s Leadership Group and Technology Board and has acted as a director for Freeview.

Tate said, "It is Anna’s wealth of commercial experience and expertise, combined with her energy and vision which I believe will help drive BBC Studios and Post Production forward. I am looking forward to working with Anna to build a strong future for the business.”
