RTL Readies Launch of New German Channel

COLOGNE: RTL Nitro, a free-TV channel from Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland set to launch in Germany on April 1, will feature a number of U.S. hits, including Modern Family, alongside crime shows, classic sitcoms, movies and more.

RTL Nitro will give Modern Family its German free-TV premiere. Also on the roster are the dark comedy Nurse Jackie and action crime series Chase. The U.S. version of The Office is set for the lineup, alongside Rome, 24 and movies such as King Kong and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. The popular British band The Overtones have been recruited to promote RTL Nitro.
