BARCELONA: Mediaproducción, the content subsidiary of Mediapro, has emerged from voluntary bankruptcy protection, which it filed in June 2010.

Mediaproducción was declared by Commercial Court No. 7 in Barcelona as having met all of the objections raised by its creditors. I can now return to its normal day-to-day operations.

The original filing was done voluntarily by Mediapro in June 2010 on the decision of Sogecable, submitted in writing, not to meet its payment obligations for football broadcasting rights. Canal+’s Prisa challenged the request to end bankruptcy, but it was rejected by the Provincial Court of Barcelona, which accused Prisa of “attempting to delay the proceedings,” adding that its actions constituted “a flagrant abuse of procedural law.”
