The Hour Heads to Netflix in Canada, Latin America

LONDON: The raft of sales Shine International has wrapped up for the spy thriller The Hour includes a deal with Netflix for Canada and Latin America.

The 6×1-hour production, from Kudos Film and Television, was sold by Shine International into more than 80 territories. Among those picking up the drama, which stars Dominic West (The Wire), are ABC in Australia, Fox International Channels and SVT in Sweden. The series had a successful first run in the U.K., and BBC Two has commissioned a second season for 2012. In the U.S., The Hour debuted in August on BBC America. The first season becomes available on Netflix in Canada in January 2012 and launches this month across 43 countries in Latin America through the Internet-based service.
