ZDF Enterprises has acquired the global licensing rights (excluding Canada) to White Night, a Canadian drama production from Pixcom.

White Night sees the heirs of Louise Hébert (played by Rose-Marie Perreault/France Castel), a supermodel and owner of her own cosmetics empire, seek answers after she is found dead following a reception highlighting her many accomplishments. While fighting to keep the company afloat and moving on with their lives without their mother, Charlotte (Valérie Blais), Marlene (Marilyse Bourke) and Lucas (Jean-Philippe Perras) may not be prepared to learn the truth behind her passing.

Commissioned by Radio-Canada, White Night (Nuit Blanche) will begin filming this spring. The series is created by Julie Hivon (Alerte Amber, Alertes) and will be directed by Sébastien Gagné (Lacher Prise, Le Chalet).

Robert Franke, VP of ZDFE.drama at ZDF Enterprises, said: “A family struggling to cope with an imbalance of power wielded by a person who is no longer alive, interwoven with a murder mystery, makes for a compelling series. White Night is an excellent addition to our scripted slate and we look forward to taking it to a wider global audience.”

Dany Meloul, general manager for television at Radio-Canada, said: “Radio-Canada has a long history of great storytelling by fostering and airing a wide variety of highly acclaimed scripted series reaching Canadian and international audiences. We are therefore delighted by today’s announcement and excited to be working with such partners as Pixcom and ZDF Enterprises.”

Nicola Merola, executive producer and president of Pixcom, said: “We are excited Radio-Canada greenlit our recurring series White Night, and to start production with ZDF Enterprises as our international partner. The unique plot twists and memorable characters of this original Québec series will move and engage audiences worldwide.”
