Eccho Rights has secured sales of the Turkish drama series Wounded Birds and Cennet to Imagen in Mexico.

Produced by Stellar Yapim for Kanal D in Turkey, Wounded Birds tells the story of a beautiful young woman named Meryem, who has spent the past five years raising her adopted brother Ömer—who, unknown to her, is the son of an influential industrialist and was kidnapped in a power struggle over control of the family empire. Cennet, meanwhile, centers on the titular character, who was abandoned as a baby and unexpectedly reunites with her birth mother, who reacts not with maternal affection but a plan to rid her from her life.

Erick Pulido, programming director at Imagen, said: “At Imagen, we are proud to acquire the best in international television for our audience and these two premium titles from Turkey represent further diversity in our lineup, while also serving the public what they want: quality, relatable, emotional stories that keep viewers coming back.”

Lisa Wegscheider, sales and acquisitions executive for LatAm and Iberia at Eccho Rights, said: “Broadcasters in Latin America have been taking notice of the success that Wounded Birds has enjoyed in the region, and we are seeing an increase in buyer interest in the market for this long-running, romantic series.”

Handan Özkubat, director of Turkish Drama at Eccho Rights, said: “Cennet continues to be one of the most popular titles in our catalog, already sold to a huge number of broadcasters across Europe and Asia, and now making waves across Latin America as well.”
