Will Forte (Saturday Night Live) has been cast to lead the new Netflix comedic thriller Bodkin (w.t.), from Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground Productions and independent studio wiip.

The series centers on a crew of podcasters who set out to investigate the mysterious disappearance of three strangers in an idyllic Irish town. Once they begin their search, they discover a story much bigger and weirder than they ever could have imagined.

Forte is joined by Siobhan Cullen (The Dry), Robyn Cara (Trying), David Wilmot (Station Eleven) and Chris Walley (The Last Voyage of the Demeter).

Creator Jez Scharf serves as co-showrunner with Alex Metcalf. Both are executive producing alongside David Flynn (wiip), Paul Lee (wiip), Tonia Davis (Higher Ground), the Obamas (Higher Ground) and Nne Ebong. Nash Edgerton is lead director.

“We are ecstatic to partner with wiip for this wickedly wry thriller which questions truth, narrative and the very purpose of each,” said Davis, head of film and television at Higher Ground. “This entire creative team—Jez, Alex, Nash and the phenomenal cast led by Will Forte and Siobhan Cullen—will bring to life something very special, and we can’t wait to share it with audiences around the world.”
