Walter Presents Acquires ZDFE Dramas for Australia

Walter Presents has secured a package of internationally produced drama series from ZDF Enterprises for Australia, where the company has an exclusive partnership with Stan.

The dramas that have been hand-picked from ZDF Enterprises’ catalog by Walter Presents Curator and Co-Founder Walter Iuzzolino include Grow, a thriller about two brothers on colliding paths in life, produced by SF Studios Productions and Rocket Road Pictures for TV2 Denmark. All of the titles included in the deal are scheduled to air on Stan as first-runs and exclusive to Stan.

In addition to Grow, the package features Standing Tall, which follows a former policeman’s unofficial investigation into his son’s alleged suicide, produced by Publispei for Rai Italy; Filmlance’s TV4/ZDF production Top Dog, centering on a clash between Stockholm business attorney Emily Jansson and Södertälje ex-con Teddy Maksumic; Sløborn, produced by Syrreal Entertainment in co-production with ZDF, Tobis, Nordisk Film and ZDF Enterprises, which mixes coming-of-age drama with a pandemic thriller to tell the story of a group of islanders confronted with a fatal virus; FILM.UA’s first Ukrainian crime noir Hide and Seek, about the issue of missing children; and the Belgian family drama Beyond Appearances, produced by KAM&KA, with the participation of France Televisions and the CNC.

Iuzzolino said: “We are delighted to secure an incredibly rich and varied slate of some extraordinary productions, from Italian psychological thrillers to German high-concept mystery. This ZDF Enterprises deal will bring to Walter Presents in Australia an unmissable treasure trove of the best television drama from around the world, exclusively available on Stan.”

Robert Franke, VP ZDFE.drama at ZDF Enterprises, added: “We are delighted to have sealed another exciting deal with our long-standing partner Walter Presents, who continue to raise the profile of foreign-language dramas globally. Walter Iuzzolino has selected some of the latest jewels in our catalog and we are thrilled that they will soon be available to Australian connoisseurs.”
