Maltese tells the story of one man fighting the Mafia. It centers on a murder investigation that becomes a bigger case involving mysterious disappearances and more killings. Commissario Dario Maltese, played by Kim Rossi Stuart, is a detective with goodwill in an immoral world. Schmid stars as Elisa Ripstein, a photojournalist who assists Maltese.
