Electric Entertainment has named Firefly Brand Management as the exclusive U.S. licensing agent for its upcoming series The Librarians: The Next Chapter.

Firefly will seek licensing partners across various product categories, including publishing, calendars and journals, apparel, costumes, backpacks, collectibles, energy drinks, board games, watches and jewelry. The Librarians: The Next Chapter is slated to bow in the U.S. on The CW this fall.

The new series is a spin-off of the 2014 The Librarians TV series, itself a spin-off of the franchise that began with the 2004 made-for-TV movie The Librarian: Quest for the Spear. The Next Chapter follows a Librarian from the past who time traveled to the present and finds himself stuck. When he returns to his castle, which is now a museum, he inadvertently releases magic across the continent and must form a new team of Librarians to clean up his mess.

“This marks a significant and thrilling milestone for us and The Librarians franchise,” said Dean Devlin, CEO of Electric Entertainment. “With Firefly on board to manage licensing agreements for the highly anticipated series continuation, we are opening up new avenues for fans to immerse themselves in the program.”

“Fans of The Librarians—both from the web and the original series—are eagerly anticipating the continuation of their favorite beloved characters,” noted Cynthia Modders, CEO of Firefly Brand Management. “Since its season finale in 2018, the passionate and diverse fan community has gathered on various social media platforms, fan forums and dedicated websites. They enthusiastically share theories, fan art, favorite moments and even create fan fiction while anxiously awaiting news of the show’s actual return. Firefly Brand Management is excited about the potential for creating new products and looks forward to sharing details with our many licensing partners.”
