LONDON: all3media international has closed a U.S. deal for season one of Hinterland, an original for S4C in Wales.

American Public Television (APT) acquired the 4×2-hour first season, which is set for release to 13 U.S. markets on June 30. The launch follows APT’s success with all3media international’s Midsomer Murders, which now airs in more than 25 U.S. markets.

Hinterland is currently in production for a third season. It has been licensed in more than 150 territories around the world.

Steve Macallister, CEO at all3media international, commented, “We’re delighted to announce this new deal in the U.S. for Hinterland, a fantastic landmark in what has been an impressive sales story so far. Hinterland’s incredibly atmospheric style and stunning, panoramic backdrops are a compelling platform for stories that are original, modern and local while also being timeless and universal. Our detective dramas continue to be stand-out performers in the international market and the continued success of Hinterland underlines our position as the go-to distributor in this genre.”
