Trace Adkins to Star in FOX Country Music Drama

Country music star Trace Adkins, who has sold more than 11 million albums, has been cast in FOX Entertainment’s new series Monarch.

Monarch is a multigenerational music drama about the fictional Roman family, whose members have created a country music dynasty. However, the very foundation of their success is a lie. Adkins will star alongside Susan Sarandon and Anna Friel in the lead roles.

Screenwriter Melissa London Hilfers serves as creator, writer and executive producer. Michael Rauch (Instinct, Royal Pains) is showrunner and executive producer, alongside Gail Berman and Hend Baghdady (The Jackal Group) and music manager Jason Owen (Sandbox Entertainment). Jason Ensler (The Passage) will direct and executive produce the series premiere.

The series will feature original music and covers, with Adam Anders serving as executive music producer.

Monarch is set to debut with a special two-night event beginning January 30 on FOX, immediately following the NFC Championship.
