HBO Europe has greenlit a third season of its hit Polish original drama The Pack (Wataha).

Production on the six-part series will begin in February 2019 on location in the Bieszczady mountains, with additional filming in Warsaw. The Pack offers a glimpse into the stories of people living on the border of Poland and Ukraine—where the boundaries of the European Union also lie—and the everyday lives of the border guard officers who are tested to the limits.

Seasons one and two are currently available to watch on HBO services in 20 countries across Europe.

Johnathan Young, VP of original programming and production at HBO Central Europe, said: “We’re delighted to be heading back to the unique setting of the Bieszczady mountains for one of our most popular returning dramas. As previous seasons of Wataha and our most recent local Polish original Blinded by the Lights have proven, there is a huge appetite for Polish drama not only amongst local audiences but in the Central European region and beyond.”

Bogumił Lipski, Wataha producer at HBO Poland, added: “The border between Ukraine and Poland, and thus the European Union, continues to inspire us, and our Bieszczady mountains are simply beautiful and fascinating. We’re looking forward to returning there to shoot the third season of Wataha/The Pack. Much like its setting, this latest season will be dangerous, dark and unpredictable.”
