The Newsreader Coming to ABC Australia Next Month

The ABC in Australia is set to premiere the new six-part drama series The Newsreader on August 15.

Set in the world of a television newsroom, The Newsreader takes viewers back to 1986. Newsreader Helen Norville (Anna Torv) is determined to build her credibility, while her colleague Dale Jennings (Sam Reid) is desperate to become a newsreader. They form an unlikely bond that will transform the fabric of the nightly news bulletin.

The Newsreader premieres on Sunday, August 15, at 8:30 p.m. on ABC TV and ABC iview. It is a Werner Films production for the ABC, with ajor production investment from Screen Australia and the ABC and financed with support from Film Victoria. Worldwide distribution is managed by Entertainment One (eOne).
