The Marrow Thieves Being Developed for Television

Thunderbird Entertainment Group is working with author Cherie Dimaline and TV writer and producer Jennica Harper to adapt the award-winning novel The Marrow Thieves for television.

The Marrow Thieves is set in a dystopian future where Earth has been ravaged by climate change. North American Indigenous people—wanted for their bone marrow, which contains the lost ability to dream—are being hunted by government recruiters and used as unwilling donors.

The series will be produced by Thunderbird’s scripted division with Dimaline, who penned the novel, and Harper set to executive produce alongside Alexandra Raffé and Ivan Fecan.

The Marrow Thieves is a chilling and insightful story that challenges us to think about our common humanity, and the type of world we want to live in,” said Fecan, Thunderbird Entertainment’s executive chair of the board. “We are honored to work with Cherie and Jennica in order to transform this incredible story into a series that will resonate with audiences around the world when it debuts.”
