The Commons Lands on Sundance Now

The Australian drama series The Commons starring Joanne Froggatt has been picked up by Sundance Now for the U.S. and Canada.

The eight-part drama, commissioned by Stan in Australia, is a character-driven thriller set at the crossroads of climate change and the cutting edge of biotechnology. It was produced by Playmaker and created by showrunner Shelley Birse, who also co-wrote the drama.

Shannon Cooper, VP of programming at Sundance Now, commented, “Led by a wonderful performance by Joanne Froggatt, this gripping and timely drama makes an ideal addition to Sundance Now’s slate.”

David Lyons, Ryan Corr and Rupert Penry-Jones round out the key cast of the drama. It launches on December 3 on Sundance Now with weekly episodes.
