TF1 has acquired Nightsleeper, an upcoming six-part suspense thriller produced by Euston Films.

Starring Alexandra Roach (The Light in the Hall) and Joe Cole (Gangs of London), the series follows the hacking of a sleeper train traveling from Glasgow to London and a government agency’s frantic efforts to intervene before disaster. Two people who have never met—one on the train and one not—must work together to save the lives of the passengers.

Nightsleeper is written by BAFTA-winning writer Nick Leather (Murdered for Being Different) and directed by Jamie Magnus Stone (Doctor Who, Ten Pound Poms) and John Hayes (Dublin Murders). Laura Grace wrote episodes four and five. It is executive produced by Kate Harwood for Euston Films, Leather, Stone and Gaynor Holmes for the BBC. Fremantle handles global distribution.

Nightsleeper is an edge-of-your-seat thriller that is set to excite and challenge audiences, making it the perfect addition to TF1’s content offering,” said Al De Azpiazu, senior VP of sales and distribution, French-speaking Europe, Italy, Spain and Portugal, international, at Fremantle. “We’re proud to be partnering with TF1 to introduce it to French audiences.”

Sophie Leveaux, artistic director of acquisitions and international drama development at TF1, added, “We’re delighted to partner with Fremantle to add this series to our lineup. This addictive thriller fits in perfectly with our content offering, both in linear mode on TF1 and on our TF1+ streaming platform.”
