Tall Story Pictures, behind the returning dramas The Bay and Grace, has named Rollem Productions alum Phil Hunter as executive producer.

Hunter will be working across projects both in production and development. He becomes executive producer on the next season of Grace, based on Peter James’ novels and starring John Simm as Brighton-based Detective Superintendent Roy Grace.

Hunter was most recently co-producer on the Apple TV+ show Criminal Record, starring Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo. Prior to that, he was executive producer on five seasons of ITV’s Vera for fellow ITV Studios label Silverprint Pictures. He was also head of production for Kay Mellor’s Rollem Productions and production executive at Mammoth Screen.

Catherine Oldfield, creative director of Tall Story Pictures, said: “Phil is a fantastic storyteller and a brilliant executive producer, so I couldn’t be more delighted to welcome him to Tall Story Pictures.”

Hunter said: “I’ve long admired the vision and scale Catherine has for Tall Story Pictures, so I’m thrilled to be joining the team. I can’t wait to get going on the next series of Grace; it’s a real privilege to step onto such a successful and well-loved show with so much amazing talent at the heart of it.”
