Seoul-based Something Special has optioned the award-winning drama series Hostages from Israel’s Armoza Formats, marking the company’s first foray into the acquisition of scripted formats.

The thriller Hostages, an Armoza Formats title, has been ordered for a second season by the Indian content and IP creation studio Applause Entertainment.

Hotstar Specials is slated to begin streaming Hostages, a crime thriller featuring Ronit Roy and Tisca Chopra that has been adapted from an Israeli original.

Ronit Roy, Tisca Chopra, Parvin Dabas and Dalip Tahil have been cast in Applause Entertainment's Indian remake of the thriller Hostages, with the local version to be produced by Banijay Asia.
