BBC Studios Drama Productions has launched Writers’ Studio: EastEnders, an open script call for those looking to develop their writing career in continuing drama.

Kate Oates, producer of Coronation Street and Emmerdale, is to join BBC Studios as senior executive producer, overseeing the continuing dramas EastEnders, Holby City and Casualty.

LONDON: Irish actors Fionnula Flanagan, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Ian McElhinney, Angeline Ball, Peter Campion and Stanley Townsend are joining Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie for the brand-new six-part drama series Redwater, a spin-off of EastEnders.
