Video Interview: Spartacus: House of Ashur’s Showrunner & Cast

The world of Spartacus is returning to STARZ on December 5 after over 14 years since it was last on air. The new sequel series, Spartacus: House of Ashur, sees Nick E. Tarabay reprise his role as Ashur to explore what would have happened if the character had lived and been rewarded for his treachery. No longer a slave and now in power in this alternative timeline, Ashur must grapple with the world of Roman politics while managing the gladiator school that once owned him.

Steven S. DeKnight (Daredevil), creator, writer and executive producer of the original series, returned to write, showrun and executive produce the sequel for Lionsgate Television and STARZ. Graham McTavish (The HobbitPreacher), Tenika Davis (Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities), Claudia Black (Ahsoka) and India Shaw-Smith (Andor) are among the new cast members.

In this interview with TV Drama Weekly, DeKnight discusses how the idea for the series came about, Tarabay talks about returning to his character after over a decade and the new cast members introduce their characters.
